When it comes to improving educational benefits for Southern Laos’ rural students, a grueling 7-hours R/T local bus ride for a 1-hour STTC Director’s meeting is part of Indigo Threads WE CARE/I CARE passionate commitment to provide educated teachers for Laos’ young developing minds.

The critical shortage of educated teachers at rural region schools is dire.  It is Indigo Threads Scholarship Program’s goal to educate rural young men/women to become outstanding teachers, serving their remote village schools when completing their education. The Salavan Teacher Training College is located in So. Laos’ rural region, attracting students from remote areas which are Indigo Threads targeted Districts.  A recently opened Salavan Ethnic Boarding High School, which adjoins STTC campus, students will be given first consideration for Indigo Threads September 2013 awarded scholarships.

Salavan Teacher’s Training College was established in l978.  Their location has moved twice to accommodate their increased rural enrollment with a current student population of 2,000 students.  A well-groomed attractive campus, it has dormitory accommodation for only 150 students.  The majority of students must find other accommodations with local families.

Asked before and I will ask again.  Support a young rural person’s teacher training education for their 2 or 3 year studies, giving them life-long employment with a viable solution to eradicate poverty.

, be a role model for young village students as their encouraging outstanding teacher.  There is no better investment than educating future Southern Laos’ teachers for its vulnerable rural children long-term positive future.  You are part of the solution with your committed yearly $550. inclusive per year, per student support for each year’s studies.
