WE'VE ALL GOTTEN A LITTLE OLDER

April 14, 2014

WE’VE ALL GOTTEN A LITTLE OLDER.

Indigo Threads and Mary D. Meyer have worked respectfully hand-in-hand with Pathoumphone District (Champasak Province) since 2006 when Mr. Orahanh, District Education Director (right of Ms. Mary), approached Indigo Threads regarding constructing a rural school at Laoyta Village.  We did and our 1st  school was donated in 2007.  Prior to working with Pathoumpone District, Indigo Threads rural education and village Programs worked directly with Village Chiefs, schools, teachers and villagers in the same region.

Many years have since passed, superior cooperation, friendship and goodwill continue with the Governor, his Directors and Indigo Threads.  Unfortunately, Mr. Orahanh will be retiring in June 2014.  Concerned without his individual attention to Indigo Threads, he said “same, same Mary.  Indigo Threads and your respected long term established relationship is special to our District.”   While we wish Mr. Orahanh and his family the very best, I’m confident his 30-year dedication to rural Lao education will carry on into other venues.
